5 Essential Travel Items

The time has come to pack, and with that comes the need to overthink. When planning a trip, it can be easy to get wrapped into the non-essential items, ie your favorite rainbow earrings, 12 pairs of sunglasses, or packs of q-tips. Lacking some items can put a damper on the easy breezy lifestyle. In that sense, we have rounded up our 5 absolutely must pack, can’t forget, travel items.

1. Toothbrush

There is nothing worse than forgetting your toothbrush on vacation, and the worst part is – you won’t remember until you go to bed or wake up in the morning and realize you have nothing to clean your teeth with! One of our favorite travel toothbrush kits can be found at Target. It comes with a toothbrush and a cover for the brush and a small tube of toothpaste. You can’t live without.

2. Sunscreen

Whether it is a tinted moisturizer or tube of sunblock, you won’t want to go anywhere without some sunscreen. For most of us, protecting our skin with sunscreen isn’t our first priority when leaving for vacation. Keeping our skincare at the forefront of our beauty routine, sunscreen is a great use no matter where you are going. Whether you are at the beach or not, sunscreen is a great way to protect your skin from the sun rays no matter where you are.

3. Laundry detergent

I think we all can agree that coming home after a vacation and doing laundry isn’t something we look forward to. Bring laundry detergent on your next vacation and see how much better it is to wash as you go. Most hotels or Airbnb have washer and dryers and are at your disposal. Stay clean on your vacation and see how much easier your settle in at home is.

One of our favorite laundry detergents to bring is Tide Pods. Easy to carry and you don’t have to worry about a sticky mess.

4. snacks

Hangry. It is better to be over prepared than under prepared. You never know what could happen during your travels. Your flight could get delayed, your hotel could be overbooked, your rental car could break down or your credit cards could get stolen. To be prepared make sure to bring extra snacks on your carry on and checked bag just in case an emergency arises.

One of our favorite travel snacks is Nature Valley Crunchy Bars. Snack on.

5. extra cell phone charger

How many times have we all reached into our backpack for a phone charger to be disappointed?  It’s always better to bring an extra charger than to not have enough, and it can be hard to find the right voltage or adapter when traveling abroad. Whether it’s the cord or the wall plug, it’s always best to have to have more.
